Don’t miss enjoying the Sogetsu Ikebana Queensland Exhibition 2022 Annual Exhibition at the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens Auditorium, Toowong on Sat 27 and Sun 28 August 2022 from 10 am till 4 pm. This art form has charmed and delighted people everywhere in how it uses mass, line, colour and asymmetry to blend with empty spaces that, somehow, result in a natural harmony among the materials, containers and settings through the use of the gifts provided by nature and found in withered leaves, seed pods, roots, branches and flowers. Unconventional materials and tranquillity are valued.
Join in the free ikebana demonstrations daily at 10.30 am and accompany qualified teachers on guided tours of the Exhibition at 11.30 am and 2.30 pm. Ikebana containers and materials are on sale during the Exhibition and, once you know what’s needed, you can get straight on to that masterpiece when you get home.
