Escape the heat this weekend, go find the Apples! We loved a recent trip to Stanthorpe and Applethorpe – each famous for delicious apples, fruit juice, jams, chutneys, high top pies, cool walks, and water spilling over the creeks.
Check out Cottonvale, Thulimbah, Glen Niven and The Summit. Then, watch out for the “Big Apple”, home to Vincenzo’s. You can’t miss seeing the large red apple. Then say G’day to Dave Sutton the owner and grower at Sutton’s Juice Factory, on the other side of the highway. We savoured Cloudy Apple and Pink Lady Pure Juice and devoured high top apple pies and real cream. Big and little kids can try the Granite Belt Maze located at Glen Niven, and have your photo on The Big Chair; mini-golf area, play the jumbo chess game and beautiful gardens and tropical birds. Go taste testing at the Truffle Discovery Centre at The Summit, or shop Christmas all-year-round at Granite Belt’s Christmas Farm, for real conifers and yummy homemade Chocolate. Don’t miss seeing or paddling the Severn River or Quart Pot Creek spilling over the rocks.
